I have become immensely interested in beauty recently (see here, here and here), and it is owed in no small part to Annie Atkinson of She’s In The Glow. Her dewy complexion and natural aesthetic are everything I love right now. And I grew up with a strong European influence (my father was born in Austria, I went to German Saturday school, etc.) so I am thoroughly enjoying her exploration of Swiss culture. (Don’t miss her InstagramStories where she provides a peak inside her new life in Zurich.)
I pretty religiously follow her recommendations when they are available in the American market and are within my beauty budget. I love the idea of being as clean and natural as possible with my beauty routine, within reason.
Most recently, I purchased Ajona Stomatikum Toothpaste after reading this post, which I am really enjoying. It has a light licorice taste but is very cleansing and leaves your teeth feeling as if you just left the dentist. The tube is exceptionally small, really almost as tiny as a travel toothpaste tube, but it is not an exaggeration to say a little goes a long way. Now when I use a regular American toothpaste, it completely overwhelms me and is not a pleasant experience.
I’ve also followed Annie’s recommendations and picked up Whole Foods natural beauty stalwarts from this post, Vintner’s Daughter Botanical Serum from this post, and am contemplating ordering the May Lindstrom Skin The Blue Cocoon. If you are interested in an exquisitely make-up free, dewy, almost whimsical aesthetic, I highly recommend you check out She’s In The Glow.
