Like in New York City, the best view of the San Francisco skyline are, necessarily, from outside the city. Whereas in NYC, you have to venture to New Jersey to appreciate the iconic skyline, in San Francisco, the corollary is Tiburon. Tiburon is perched on a small peninsula in the San Francisco Bay that houses a marina chock-a-block with gorgeous boats, delicious restaurants and adorable shopping. During our recent trip to California we spent an afternoon following a hike in Muir Woods at Sam’s Anchor Cafe. The views from the dock seating area were gorgeous and the weather could not have been better. The restaurant was filled with people clearly coming from a hike in Marin (like us) and others who put the effort in for an afternoon out. One doesn’t go to Sam’s for the food, but the relaxed ambiance and surroundings certainly should not be missed. After a leisurely lunch we strolled around the town of Tiburon and discovered one of my new favorite stores, Amour Vert. It sells perfectly on-theme nautical stripes and a broad array of other closet staples that exude California cool.
