We just returned from our second family trip in four weeks. The girls love the excitement of travel, but packing isn’t as easy as it was before children.
I’ve established a fool-proof system for packing our carry-on luggage which is dependent on having the right bags packed with specific contents:
- Pouch: passports, boarding passes, printouts of itineraries and car rental reservations,
- Cross Body Bag: phone, travel wallet, chapstick, earphones and glasses,
- Tote Bag: *Pouch,* iPads, sticker books, ziplock bags of PlayDoh, chargers, laptop and the girls’ headphones,
- Duffel Bag: Bjorn, muslin covers, food, diaper change kit, change of clothes for the girls and any other miscellany we bring.
With this system, I (generally) know where everything is, and I don’t have to go hunting in the bottom of a bag for chapstick or earphones. Being organized definitely contributes to calmer and more enjoyable travels.
