So the thing about Texas in September is that while the rest of the country (world? northern hemisphere?) is transitioning to autumn fashion (read, cardigans, booties, jeans, etc.), it is still piping hot in Houston. Which means that we get to continue to wear our fave summer dresses for much longer.
This has been a go-to dress all summer. The fabric is light, the cut forgiving and the style so easy to dress up and down (perfect for a day in the city or sipping rose in the evening – yes, we’re still spending our evenings sipping rose on patios in H-town). Bonus points for this dress being on sale (another bonus of our extended summer!) here.
As an aside, I do love shopping classic pieces like this dress at the end of the season because you can always find a killer deal and there is not a doubt in my mind I will be patting myself on the back for such foresight when next summer rolls around.
While we are suffering from some serious FOMO not being in NYC this week (has IG stories made this worse? I think so!), I’d be remiss to not acknowledge what today is. September 11th is no doubt one of the most heartbreaking days of our lives, and our hearts go out to those who lost loved ones in the tragedy. We try to use September 11th as a reminder to hug our loved ones tighter, go in for that extra kiss and say “I love you” just a little bit louder.
