Living in Houston is amazing – close to family, amazing friends, lots of space, an actual driveway (try driving around Manhattan for 45 minutes every time you needed to find a parking spot – not fun). But then there are times that make me nostalgic for the five years we lived in NYC, and seeing my Instagram feed full of pics from the Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic this weekend is one of those times. The Polo Classic was the unofficial start of summer in New York, and so, so, so much fun. I mean, a day of dressing up, gorgeous flowers everywhere, and drinking champagne in the sun with your girlfriends – such an awesome time! Now my unofficial start of summer is the opening of the neighbourhood pools and end of the MDO year parties with my girls. So very different from the Classic, but just as awesome, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. We’re planning a fall trip to NYC to visit family, and I can’t wait to experience the magic of NYC through the eyes of a two-year-old! Grace @ The Stripe and Julia @ Lemon Stripes did amazing write ups of the Polo Classic this year (*almost* makes you feel like you were there)!
