Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a lovely celebration and you are settling easily back into the swing of things. The first week back to work after any extended break is so painful – all I want to do is stay under the covers and catch up on all the sleep I missed out on while travelling with 2 little ones. Unfortunately that just isn’t in the cards for me, and it is back to work and school!
While I am not someone to generally wait until the new year to begin my resolutions (read about that here), I am upping my style game work-wise. It is so easy to fall into a rut with getting dressed for work, especially when the temps drop. But that really is no excuse in my book – there are so many ways to be stylish (and warm) at work. Like so many of you, I often look to Pinterest for ideas and am using these images as my inspiration: I’m all about monochromatic looks, layering and comfort this month!
A trick I use is to pick out my work outfits on Sunday evenings. I take 10 minutes to focus on what I’m going to wear which means I generally don’t wear overly-similar outfits on sequential days and don’t have to try to cobble together some presentable look with one eye half-closed and two toddlers chasing each other in circles in the mornings. I also make sure to review my weekly calendar to see if I have any more formal meetings or events which require something special.
